About Marisa
Marisa began her career in the travel industry at Brownell Travel, widely regarded as the “Harvard” of travel agencies. After completing their intensive mentorship program, she developed the expertise and global connections required to design exceptional travel experiences for discerning clients.
With more than six years of professional experience, her insights and recommendations have been featured in USA Today, The Washington Post, Luxury Travel Advisor, and other respected publications.
Marisa is passionate about neuroscience, wellness, mental health, and the importance of rest in a world that rarely slows down. She believes deeply in the transformative power of travel — the ability to reset the mind, restore perspective, and strengthen our relationships with the people we love.
She has traveled to more than 30 countries. Her favorite travel experiences include a great white shark encounter, trekking in the Himalayas, and floating in a hot air balloon over Cappadocia, Turkey.
About Robert
Robert Poortinga is a travel assistent and cultural specialist. He specialises in culturally immersive journeys centered around art, music, gastronomy, and the intellectual heritage of Europe.
With an academic background deeply rooted in the arts and humanities, Robert brings a rare level of cultural insight to travel design. His lifelong study of classical music, European history, and culinary traditions informs the journeys he creates. Over the years he has worked closely with world-class musicians, Michelin-star chefs, cultural institutions, and leaders in the arts. His extensive European travels throughout Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, and the Netherlands have been devoted not only to exploring destinations, but to understanding the artistic and cultural traditions that define them.
Robert speaks six languages and has lived in seven countries. His studies in New York City, combined with years spent living throughout Europe, give him a unique perspective that bridges American and European cultural worlds.
His favorite travel experiences include cooking tagine in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco, paragliding above the Dolomites in Italy, and a whirlwind five-day journey through twelve museums in London guided by a museum director.
For Robert, travel is not simply about seeing new places, it is about understanding the history, ideas, art, and traditions that shaped them.
